President of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku has been honoured as one of the recipients of the BPM Global 100 Leading Black Professionals award for 2025 in recognition of his efforts towards transforming public relations profession in Nigeria.
He was conferred with the Black Professionals Month (BPM) Global 100 Awards Brunch during a ceremony on Saturday, 25th October, 2025 at Tower Club, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States.
The award, which was presented to him by ICABA World Network, under the BPM initiative celebrates outstanding Black professionals and entrepreneurs worldwide who have demonstrated excellence, leadership, innovation, and community impact.
The NIPR boss who joined the event virtually expressed delight for the honour, which he described as "one of the few" he agreed to accept, saying his leadership principle is propelled by the need to give hope, honour individuals and institutions as well as leaving a legacy that will stand the test of time.
"Another tool I must tell you that has helped me in the course of my work is the power of partnership and collaboration. Nobody can do it alone and you must work with people to achieve results. Also, the power of reputation is crucial and cannot be quantified. As a matter of fact, I always say that your reputation is your core asset. In all you do, do not joke with your reputation", he advised.
This honour is in recognition of the various transformative initiatives at the public relations profession in Nigeria under the current Council led by Dr. Ike Neliaku as President, Chairman of Council, NIPR, in the following areas: establishment of University of Public Relations and Leadership (UPRL), Nigeria Spokespersons Summit (NSS), Nigeria Reputation Management Group (NRMG).
Others are: Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW), recognition of public relations as a cadre in civil service, and unprecedented membership growth, among others.
