WPRF 2025: Information Minister Assures Federal Government's Commitment to Hosting Biggest, Brightest and Boldest Global Event
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris has given the assurance of the Federal Government's commitment to hosting the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), saying that Nigeria's winning of the hosting right for the event was one of the country's key scorecards in the information and communications space in the outgoing year.
The Hon. Minister made the declaration at the 2025 End-of-Year Media Engagement held on Monday at the Banquet Hall of Nicon Luxury Hotel Abuja.
The elated Minister Idris, described as historic, the rights to host the Global Alliance WPRF, and the African Public Relations Association (APRA) Conference in Abuja next year, stressing that this marks the first time an African nation will be hosting the two major public relations events in one year, which signifies the confidence of Nigeria as a major hub for responsible communication in Africa.
While reiterating the Federal Government's commitment to give the world the Biggest, Brightest and Boldest WPRF in history at the November 2026 edition in Abuja, he called for the support of all stakeholders towards the nation's vision for the programme.
Speaking shortly after the event, the President, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku, who was present, along with other Heads of Agencies under the Federal Ministry of Information and Presidential Advisers, informed that the Institute is impressed by the high number of countries that have indicated interest and registered to be in Nigeria for the forthcoming 2026 WPRF.
Neliaku urged prospective participants to take advantage of early bird package that ends in January to register for the event; while encouraging national and international corporate organisations to key into the project for global visibility and milage.
