NIPR President Tasks Organisations on Relationship with Media


The President of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku has advised organisations to cultivate and maintain mutually beneficial relationship with their key stakeholders and communities particularly the media.

Dr. Neliaku spoke on Tuesday in Abuja at the combined 1st and 2nd quarters 2026 media workshop organised by the Nigerian Army themed - "Media Integration as a Force Multiplier for Joint and Multi-Agency Operational Success".

He stressed that building a good relationship with the media assists organisations in deepening strategic communication that helps them to control organisational narratives. 

The NIPR boss cautioned public relations practitioners against the culture of waiting for issues to arise before building a relationship, noting that the media community leverages on relationship already built as foundation for framing favourable narratives for such organisations. 

He emphasized the critical roles of the media and security agencies and called for a more effective collaboration between the both to advance the cause of national development.
