NIPR President Urges Genuine Commitment to Africa's Development
The President of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku has called on leaders across the African continent to demonstrate genuine willingness to drive impactful development in their areas of influence.
Dr. Neliaku made the call on Monday in Abuja at the opening ceremony of the Institute for National Transformation (INT) 2026 Delegate Leadership Summit, with the theme, "Love Africa Now: Building STI-Driven Economies for the Africa We Want".
While emphasising that time has come for Africa to rise and assume leadership position in the comity of nations, Dr. Neliaku expressed concern that the continent has continued to face the challenge of matching time with productivity, saying that "We as a people need transformational leaders that will give us progress".
The NIPR boss further stressed that a system that has programmed leaders at various levels to be "endlessly busy", without committing adequate time to thinking that produces results will not create a sustainable development, calling for support for public office holders.
He commended the convener and the founder, INT International, Prof. Vincent Anigbogu for his decades of burning passion and consistency towards ensuring that nations and indeed, the African continent is transformed.
Earlier, Prof. Anigbogu said at the centre of Africa's development challenge is insufficient capacity to transform ideas and resources into productive institutions, competitive industries and measurable improvements, declaring that the continent needs an execution revolution to overcome its development paradox.
