NIPR President Salutes Pro-Democracy Advocate, Nwagwu at 60, Harps on Inclusive Governance
President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku has extolled a pro-democracy activist, Chief Comrade Ezenwa Nwagwu for his consistency in championing the campaign for electoral credibility and good governance.
Dr. Neliaku spoke in Abuja recently at the 60th Birthday Colloquium & Dinner in honour of Chief Nwagwu, themed, "Citizenship, Institution and the Imperatives of Inclusive in Nigeria", where he served as Special Guest of Honour. He said for over two decades, the celebrant has continued in his push to see a Nigeria where the system works effectively for the good of every citizen.
"Over 26 years ago, when we were much younger, we felt it was time that we worked together to redefine Nigeria through democracy. We went round the country, we fought battles, eventually, circumstances took us to different places, and we went on different directions. But the person of Eze has remained consistent", he stated.
The NIPR boss also described Chief Nwagwu as exemplary in building, nursing and sustaining relationships through the power of respect and recognising the importance of others. While urging leaders to borrow a leaf from the celebrant life of legacy; Dr. Neliaku said every opportunity to serve is an examination and office holders should make judicious use of their time in service to leave a legacy of honour and pride.
Speaking on the theme of the colloquium, Dr. Neliaku advised leaders to lay aside the gab of religion and ethnicity and build a bridge that brings together talent, energy, creativity, and innovation, noting that collaborative governance is the driver of national development.
