NIPR Kaduna Elects New Leadership
A new Executive Committee has emerged at the Kaduna State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), with the Head, Corporate Relations of the New Nigeria Development Company Limited (NNDC), Mal. Mohammed Abdullahi, elected as the Chairman.
The election took place on Saturday, 29th August, 2026 at the Chapter’s Annual General Meeting in Kaduna. Mal. Abdullahi takes over from Haroun Malami upon the expiration of his tenure of office.
The AGM was held alongside the maiden Bashir Adamu Chedi Memorial Lecture organized in honour of the late former Chairman and Council Member, PRO of the Chapter, Latifah Ismail said in a statement.
The lecture, themed “Bridging Generations: Strengthening Public Relations Through Mentorship,” was delivered by the Chairman/CEO, Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN), Dr. Nkechi Ali-Balogun, the statement added.
"The event drew senior government officials, communication professionals and industry leaders including the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alh. Mohammed Idris; Kaduna State, Commissioner for Information, Alh. Ahmed Maiyaki; DGs of NTA, Mal. Abdulhamid Dembos; VON, Mal. Jibrin Ndace, and the MD NAN, Mal. Ali M. Ali.
"Also present were NIPR Vice President, Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura, who represented the President, Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku; former VP of the Institute, Dr. Mohammed A. Haruna; Council Member, Dr. Ahmad Sajoh and Registrar of NIPR, Chief Uzoma Onyegbadue.
"The election was supervised by Prof. Dandaura, Dr. Sajoh and Chief Onyegbadue, who administered the oath of office", the statement noted.
Chief Onyegbadue in his remarks charged the new leadership to uphold NIPR’s ethics and deploy public relations strategically in the discharge of their functions.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman, Abdullahi pledged an inclusive, transparent and development-driven administration. He said priorities will include capacity building, members’ welfare and financial sustainability.
Other members of the New Executive Committee include the Vice Chairman, Bassey Okon; Secretary, Adeleke Sa’eed; Assistant Secretary, Zakari Jamilu Muhammad; Public Relations Officer, Latifah Isma’il - Public Relations Executive and the Financial Secretary, Mercy Eyum Ogbu.
Others are, Treasurer, Nancy Awuni Audu; Welfare Officer, Asma’u Isyaku Gwamna - Welfare Officer; Auditor, Mohammed Shettima; Ex-Officio, Alh. Musa Bashir Usman, Haroun Malami and Alh. Abdulazeez Abdullahi.
