The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the Host Body for the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) Abuja 2026 on Saturday held a road walk across the country to drive sensitisation and deepen awareness ahead of the November programme.

In their large numbers, members filed out from the country's six geopolitical zones to raise the consciousness of their various communities on the significance of the reputation project and the need to offer their support.

The national flag-off took place in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, which hosts the University of Public Relations and Leadership (UPRL) expected to be unveiled during the WPRF.

The President of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku who led the national flag-off in the state said the hosting of the first specialised university in public relations is a significant accomplishment, thanking the Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule for investing in the project poised to raise credible future leaders.

While delivering goodwill message from the President and CEO, Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, Prof. Justin Green who had earlier visited the state, Dr. Neliaku reassured that Nigeria will set a record difficult to beat with the quality of the WPRF it will give to the world in November.

"Nigeria will give to the world the Biggest, the Brightest, and the Boldest World Public Relations Forum ever held. Nasarawa is contained in the map of public relations all over the world by the virtue of playing host to the University of Public Relations and Leadership.  When the history is told, when the story is written, Nasarawa will occupy a central page", he stated.

One of the key programmes at the WPRF, the Global Youth Summit will take place in Nasarawa and will take place alongside unveiling of UPRL, located in Gudi, Akwanga local government area of the state. Dr. Neliaku told the youths of Nasarawa that the investment by the state government into their future through the UPRL is an indication that their welfare is at the heart of governance in the state.
