NIPR Decorates 19 New Fellows, Inducts 107 Associates
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has wrapped up the Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW) 2026 in Kaduna, with additional members into its Fellowship rank, its highest membership category.
The Institute decorated 19 new Fellows on Thursday, April 23 at the New Banquet Hall of the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House in Kano in a colourful event that also saw a total of 107 persons inducted as Associate members.
The new Fellows include, former Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi; veteran broadcast journalist, Mrs. Moji Makanjuola and former President of National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) Mr. Idorenyen Enang.
While congratulating the new Fellows, the President, Chairman of Council of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku urged them to uphold ethical values and remain good ambassadors of the Institute.
He further urged them to play mentorship roles among younger practitioners, provide them with the guiding light to grow in the profession and remain active in the activities of their various Chapters. The NIPR boss also called on the new Fellows to continue to immerse themselves with professional training in order to add more value to their clients and employers.
Also in the list of the new Fellows include, George-Taylor Tokunbo; Dokunmu Olufemi; Bassey Ekaette E; Umar Abdulrahman M; Musa Ibrahim; Nyong Nyong; Jimoh Moji A; Umar Shuaib Idris; Ologun Olajide A; Naandoet John N; Nwakanma Chidorum B; Alege Omolola Tonia; Mohammed Rabiu W; Dr. Bolajoko Bayo-Ajayi; Ms. Lantana Ladi Ahmed and Yeye Adenike Shobajo.
Similarly, Dr. Neliaku tasked the new inductees to remain consistent and be intentional with their professional development process, adding that inactiveness in the Institute's activities will be an impediment in their professional growth.
The 3rd Nigeria Public Relations Week, which had as the theme, "Food Security: From Policy Paper to Public Plates - the Imperatives of Public Relations".
It was declared open by the Vice President, Kashim Shettima and featured keynote addresses, policy framing sessions, and high level dialogues aimed at positioning communication as a critical driver for translating policies into tangible outcomes for citizens.
Highlight of the event was the investiture of governor of Kaduna State, Sen. Uba Sani as Patron of NIPR, as well as conferment of Honorary Fellowship on notable Nigerians, including the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu; Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo; Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, former Executive Secretary of TETFund, Prof. Suleiman Elias Bogoro; Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Prof. Sa'adatu Hassan Liman and host of others.
