Deputy Speaker, JAMB Registrar, Former TETFund ES, Others Bag NIPR Honorary Fellowship



Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Registrar of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the former Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Prof Suleiman Elias Bogoro, Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Prof. Sa'adatu Hassan Liman and others have made the list of prominent Nigerians to be conferred with the Honorary Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

They were conferred on Thursday, April 23rd, 2026 in Kaduna as part of activities marking the 2026 Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW), which had as the theme, "Food Security: From Policy Paper to Public Plates - the Imperatives of Public Relations".

Presenting his acceptance speech, the Deputy Speaker said NIPR occupies an important place in the nation's history, championing professionalism, ethical communication, reputation management, and strengthening relationships between institutions and the citizens they serve. 

While commending the Institute for its firm commitment to excellence and professionalism, the Deputy Speaker encouraged NIPR to continue shaping ethical communicators, defending truth, and promoting national cohesion through responsible public discourse.

"I consider this recognition not merely as a personal achievement, but as an affirmation of the ideals of service, leadership, nationbuilding, and constructive engagement", he stated. 

Kalu also lauded Dr. Ike Neliaku-led Governing Council of NIPR for its outstanding leadership and remarkable service to NIPR and the nation. "Your tenure has been notably vibrant, purposeful, and impactful, marked by innovation, visibility, professional advancement, and a renewed national relevance for the NIPR. You have demonstrated that leadership rooted in vision and commitment can transform institutions and inspire confidence", he added. 

He noted further, "As I accept this Fellowship, I do so with renewed determination to support every effort to deepen democratic values, promote national unity, and strengthen the bond between leadership and citizens. I therefore dedicate this recognition to the people I represent, starting with Bende Federal Constituency and all Nigerians, whose faith in democratic institutions continues to inspire us to do better".

Speaking at the event at the New Banquet Hall, Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna State, the President of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku while congratulating the awardees charged them to be good ambassadors of the Institute, noting that they were carefully selected for the prestigious honour as a result of their track record of integrity and reputation. 

Also on the list of the Honorary Fellows include, the President of the African Public Relations Association, Mr. Arik Karani; Traditional Ruler and President of Akwanga LGA Traditional Council, HRH Pastor Samson Gamu Yare; Director-General of NBRRI, Prof. Samson Duna; Director-General of NIPSS, Prof. Ayo Omotayo; CEO DAAR Communications Plc, Chief Marcel Anyalechi among others.
