NIPR President, Dr. Neliaku Re-elected into Board of Global Alliance

The President of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku has been re-elected for a second term into the Board of Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management.

He was re-elected on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the Annual General Meeting of GA in Prague, Czech Republic. With its headquarters in Zürich, Switzerland, Global Alliance is the umbrella body of public relations associations from across 126 countries of the world.

The two-year tenure takes effect from June when the Board is expected to be inaugurated. Dr. Neliaku was first elected into the Board for one year term in 2025.

Reacting to the development, the NIPR boss described his re-election as an honour to the public relations family and Nigeria at large.

"This is like a promotion - from one year, we are now given the mandate to be on the Board for two year. This is very significant to our dear country, Nigeria because it shows the level of confidence Nigeria has gained from Global Alliance", he stated.

Dr. Neliaku noted that the victory is owing to the level and quality of contribution Nigeria has made to the Board in the last one year, thanking the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris for his unalloyed support to NIPR.

Describing the milestone as a challenge to do more, the NIPR President called on all Nigerians to join in the efforts to host a successful World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) coming up this November in Abuja.

"This platform is a great indicator that Nigeria as a nation is occupying a very strategic position in global communication ecosystem, in the area driving responsible communication and reputation management. It is a good opportunity we must made good use of", he stated.
