540 New Members Join NIPR in Second Special Diamond Anniversary Induction

On Thursday, July 11, 2024, 540 new members were added into the fold of NIPR during the second special Diamond Anniversary Induction for media and allied practitioners at Sandralia Hotel Abuja.

The first batch which took place at NTA Arena Abuja on June 20, had 605 members inducted.

At the induction ceremony on Thursday, NIPR President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku while congratulating the new members, charged them to maintain high professional and ethical standards as they practice the profession.

During orientation, the Provost, Police School of Public Relations, CP Emmanuel Ojukwu (Rtd) noted that successful practice in public relations requires a blend of courage, strategic planning, analytical thinking, and a well-packaged presentation.

Inductees had the privilege of listening to several past Ministers of Information as they shared experiences on how the country's information management was carried out while they were in office.

Past Ministers of Information in attendance include: Chukwuemeka Chikelu who also officially received his Honourary Fellowship Award, Frank Nweke II, Labaran Maku, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and other dignitaries.

Highlight of the event was the historic signing of Memorandum of Understanding between NIPR and DAAR Communications Plc. 

NIPR President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku signed on behalf of our great Institute while the Group Managing Director, Senior High Chief Tony Akiotu signed on behalf of DAAR. 

Vice President, Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura, Registrar Chief Uzoma and the Chairman, DAAR Communications Plc, Chief Raymond Dokpesi Jnr. witnessed the moment.
