NIPR Inducts 22 New Fellows, 103 Associates

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has inducted 22 new set of members into its College of Fellows.

They include 19 professional and 3 Honorary Fellows. The Honorary Fellows include Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo Director General Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Ahmed Abubakar Audi Commandant General Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Tim Akano, CEO of New Horizon Nigeria.

Similarly, the Institute also inducted 103 new members as Associates.

Their induction took place on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at the week-long Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW) in Uyo Akwa Ibom state, which also featured the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Institute.

Speaking at the ceremony, the President and Chairman of Council of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku while congratulating the new Fellows urged them to continue to uphold the highest professional standards at all times and remain good ambassadors of the Institute.

According to the President, attaining the highest membership category of NIPR comes with a lot of commitment and sacrifice, advising the new Fellows not to take back seat in the activities of the Institute, rather contribute in raising upcoming professionals and in all its activities.

"Fellowship of NIPR is not a retirement call, rather an honour for professional excellence which you must hold onto tenaciously. As a Council, we will not hesitate to withdraw our Fellowship from any candidate who is found guilty of dragging our name to disrepute. As custodians of reputation, we will not tolerate any individual who will slide our name in mud. We will wield the big stick and it starts with withdrawing our honour", he warned.

Dr. Neliaku also urged the new inductees to be very active in the activities of their respective chapters and make themselves available for professional development in order to be outstanding public relations professionals.

One of the newly inducted Fellows, Mary Ikoku from Abia Chapter expressed delight with her elevation, describing it as a product of dedication and hard work.

In a social media post, she said, "Yesterday,  I was inducted into the body of Fellows of my Institute, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in Uyo, AkwaIbom State! This wasn't achieved by a suddenflight. I got here through years of dedication, hardwork and professionalism.
