NIPR Inaugurates Dr. Momoh as Chairman, NRMG Body of Advisers



The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has named 3-man Body of Advisers for its Nigeria Reputation Management Group (NRMG), with the Chairman of Channels Group, Dr. John Momoh serving as the Chairman. 

Dr. Momoh was inaugurated on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State during the opening ceremony of the 2nd Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRWeek) organised by NIPR. 

Speaking during the inauguration, President and Chairman of Council of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku said the choice of Dr. Momoh, a Fellow of the Institute to head the Body, is in recognition of his trailblazing accomplishments in media and communication, as well as his exemplary ethical leadership. 

"This honour is a testament to our collective confidence in his exceptional wisdom, integrity, and patriotism. His leadership shall provide strategic guidance in advancing the Group’s mission to safeguard, promote, and elevate the reputation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria through value-driven communication, public trust-building, and national cohesion", the President noted. 

Similarly, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Mr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi was also inaugurated the inaugural Vice Chairman of the Body. 

The installation of Adeniyi, a former Vice President of NIPR is a reflection of his distinguished professional record, unwavering commitment to national service, and sterling leadership in strategic communication.

"This installation reflects our confidence in his character, clarity of purpose, and dedication to promoting values that inspire national unity, institutional trust, and positive reputation of Nigeria on the global stage", the President declared. 

Also, a veteran broadcaster and Fellow of the Institute, Dr. Muhammad Kudu Abubakar was inaugurated as the pioneer Secretary of the Body of Advisers of NRMG, an appointment which underscores the Institute's trust in his organisational insight and strategic thinking, which are critical to driving the NRMG’s mandate of fostering a resilient national reputation grounded in integrity, transparency, and shared national values.

The NRMG Board, inaugurated in February is chaired by a former President of the African Public Relations Association (APRA), Chief Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, with Hajiya Lami Tumaka and Dr. Alice Ajeh serving as 1st Vice Chairman and 2nd Vice Chairman respectively. 

The core responsibility of the NRMG is to find lasting solution to reputational issues affecting the growth and development of Nigeria. 

In his acceptance speech, Dr. John Momoh assured that he will bring his full commitment to the role, guided by the values of integrity, collaboration and excellence, praising the foresight of NIPR for the NRMG initiative. 

Others in the membership of NRMG Board include, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, Prof. Okey Ikechukwu, Dr. Jossy Nkwocha, H. E. Amb. Tope Elias-Fatile and Dr. Nkechi Ali-Balogun. 

Others are: Alhaji Sadiq Kassim, Mr. Franklyn Ginger-Eke, Chief Tokunbo Modupe, Chief Moji Makanjuola and Mr. Stanley Ogadigo. 

Also, representatives of the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, Lawal Oluwatosin Kafayat, NIPR Young Professionals Hub, Mr. Nanfa Nandap and Ministry of Foreign Affairs's nominee are all members while the CEO of the NRMG when appointed, will serve as Secretary to the Board.
