Jigawa Governor, HE Umar Namadi Hosts NIPR Leadership
The governor of Jigawa state, His Excellency Umar Namadi on June 28, 2024 played host to a high-powered delegation of NIPR led by the President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku.
During the visit, Mr. President lauded the governor on initiatives that have strengthened food security in the northern state.
"We know, Your Excellency that stomach Infrastructure is very important for good governance to thrive. If you don't take care of people's stomach and concentrate on infrastructure alone, they may convert some of the things you used in building roads and bridges to items for stomach Infrastructure", NIPR President noted.
The Award of Diamond Prize for Excellence in Food Security was officially presented to the Governor.
It was to be presented the previous day, June 27 during the anniversary/award dinner at Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja but HE Gov. Namadi was only represented.
He used the opportunity to appreciate NIPR for its efforts in bridging the gap of communication between the government and the citizenry.
The State Honourable Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed was also present.
Those in the NIPR delegation include, Vice President and Vice Chairman of Council, Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura, Registrar Chief Uzoma Onyegbadue, Council Members Sule Ya'u Sule, Hajiya Maryam Sanusi, Mallam Bashir Chedi and the Institute's Director of Public Relations, Stanley Ogadigo.
